I’m Nicki.
I’m the writer, designer and creative brain behind About Warmth.
Here I share inspiration, patterns and nuggets for creatives of all levels. I’m here to help you find your authentic and beautifully creative self and letting them shine.
Everybody is creative! Yes I’m also looking at you. Find your next project in the shop or just stick around and read for a while. You can move at your own pace here.
I started designing my own patterns at the beginning of 2022. Before that I had been enthusiastically learning all I could about knitting, crochet and Tunisian crochet. I love everything about it and I kept getting so inspired by all the makers I saw on social media and the things I saw around me in the world, I just knew I was ready for the next step and set out to create my own design. I haven’t looked back since.
My view of creativity is always evolving, growing and changing.
If you had told me all of that when I just turned 20 I would have laughed at you. “Me doing anything creative? No way!”. My view of what it meant to be a creative person was very limited and every time did anything that fit in with that view I just didn’t think I was doing it good enough. Therefore I wasn’t creative. This changed for me when I started letting go of trying to do it perfect and just doing something I found enjoyable for that reason alone. From there on out my view of creativity changed completely and I started discovering more and more ways to express it.
I started About Warmth to help others spark their creativity, to encourage you to grow and develop in a fun way! To create a space where we can find your creative freedom together. You can find your creative spark just like me and develop it to start looking at the world through your own creative glasses.
Letting go of trying to do it perfect and just doing something I found enjoyable for that reason alone. From there on out my view of creativity changed completely and I started discovering more and more ways to express it.
